OFFICIALS FEES FOR IAB
PRO & AMATEUR WORLD TITLE BOUTS

-World Title Scale-
For ALL IAB Title Bouts the IAB will work with the residing Boxing Commission to determine qualified and approved Officials. If no Boxing Commission regulates the boxing bouts, The IAB will Appoint ALL Officials. This will include 1 Referee and 3 judges. A minimum of TWO of the 4 Officials will be from Neutral locations other than the bout location.
If the event is under the jurisdiction of a state, regional or other Athletic Commission, the Commission shall determine the appointment of and the pay scale of each official.

(*) Minimum and Maximum Officials Fees can vary greatly and are determined by the IAB in regards to the Country the event is in, Fighters Purses, the Rule Style of the Title and Event Exposure (Is it a Televised Event Etc.).
Also, The MORE (2 or more) World Title Bouts on an event, the LESS Expense for the Officials Fees since they are already at the event for 1 World Title.
(**) The fees paid for the World Title are IN ADDITION to the fees for the other bouts the Official worked on the event at the explained scales above.

IAB OFFICIALS - GUIDELINES

  1. All IAB Event officials shall be employed by the promoter at all IAB sanctioned events and shall be approved by the IAB directly.
  2. Each official must know all rules and regulations for an IAB Boxing event. To find properly qualified officials, contact the local athletic commission or work with the IAB directly to select the best qualified officials for each position.
  3. The IAB reserves all rights to deny or appoint all necessary officials if the promoter's selections do not meet the required qualifications of the IAB.
  4. Any official found under the influence of ANY drug or alcohol immediately prior to, during or within 1 hour after the event (Alcohol only prior and during the match, not after) shall be fined by the IAB $500.00 and banned by the IAB.
  5. Any official at an IAB event shall give permission to the IAB for drug testing before or after any bout, amateur or pro and especially if the bout is a title match.
  6. ALL officials must be pre-approved and licensed by the IAB "UNLESS" other IAB approved officials in the Promoters area are available for the event.

ALL Officials Fees can Vary Greatly and are Finalized by the IAB and the Event Promoter in regards to...

  1. The Country the Event is in. (Dollar Strength, Available Officials etc.)
  2. If the Officials are volunteering. (Friends of the Promoter or just like to be Officials)
  3. New & Learning Officials. (New Officials are rarely Paid until they Prove their ability. New Officials do not work TITLE Bouts.)
  4. Fighters Purses. (High Pro Purses "COULD " mean higher Officials Fees since it could be a high exposure Bout.)
  5. The Rule Style of the Titles involved (Number of rounds)
  6. How many bouts on the Event.
  7. If it is a Tournament Style Event.
  8. If it is a Charity Event. (Where everyone works for free.)
  9. How far the Official is required to Travel.
  10. How long the Official will be away from Home. (How much work will the Official miss, missing pay as well.)
  11. If it is a Televised Event.
  12. If an an Athletic Commission Involved in the Event. (Athletic Commissions may determine ALL Officials Pay.)
  13. And many other factors...

PROMOTERS...
PLEASE DO NOT
Force your Officials to sit around and WAIT for you to pay them or for them to approach you to be paid. No one likes to ask for their money. BE RESPONSIBLE and PROFESSIONAL and make sure you pay your officials IMMEDIATLY after your event. They worked hard to make your event possible.
Thank You.
