PROMOTERS & MATCHMAKERS
It is the DUTY and RESPONSIBILITY of the Event Promoter and or Matchmaker to inform ( by mail, fax or e-mail ) each Fighter and his/her Trainer(s) (Amateur AND Pro) of ALL the REQUIRED IAB Rules and Regulations. Each Fighter and his/her Trainer(s) are Required to Abide By when Participating on an IAB Sanctioned Event BEFORE they arrive at the event.


  • WEIGH-INS

    1. SCHEDULED TIME
      • Promoters must schedule a weigh-in window (Window is a time frame such as from 5 to 8 PM) that is no more than 3 hours in time.
      • Your official weigh-ins may take place on two separate days or one.
      • In some special circumstances, two weigh-in windows shall be allowed.
        • The day before your event and or the day of your event.
      • Weigh-in time windows are to be no more then 3 hours in length.
      • Fighters who miss this weigh-in "Time Window" will be scratched from the event unless a valid explanation/reason is given to your IAB Event Representative as to why they cannot make the weigh-in window
      • EVERY Fighter and Trainer has the right to witness their opponents weigh-in, ALWAYS!
      • Participants of a bout must BOTH weigh-in on the same day and during the scheduled weigh-in time.
      • If you have 2 separate days scheduled for weigh-ins, you cannot have one fighter weigh-in on the first day and his/her opponent weigh-in on the following day. BOTH must weigh-in on the SAME DAY!

    2. "MANDATORY" REQUIREMENTS
      FOR IAB REPRESENTATIVE FROM PROMOTER
      • Promoter must supply a TYPED FULL and DETAILED Bout Sheet for the IAB Event representative overseeing the weigh-ins.
      • This sheet shall include:
        • Every Fighters name - Typed out and spelled correctly.
        • Match-ups - Who is fighting who?
        • Rule style each bout is to be fought under.
        • Maximum weight matchmaker has requested each fighter to be.
        • Each fighters FULL STATS:
          • Name, City, State, Country, Record, Weight, Height, Date of Birth, Trainers Name, Trainers Contact Number.
      • Promoter must supply 2 Tables and 4 Chairs for the IAB Staff to conduct weigh-ins and aquire fighter information.

    3. WEIGH-IN ROOM
      • Promoter must supply an area to fit all the fighters, trainers and officials in that is private from the public.
      • Promoter must supply the weigh-in scale.
        • If not DIGITAL, Promoter must supply a 10 lb fixed weight to assure scale accuracy.
      • Scale location and IAB Staff Tables must be side by side and close to a private room in case a fighter is required to strip down to make weight.

    4. TIME PRIOR TO EVENT
      • Fighters shall weigh-in no more than 24 hours prior to the scheduled time of the event start time.
      • Tournament fighters may weigh-in earlier if approved by the IAB.

    5. WITNESS
      • All Fighters and their TRAINERS must be present at the OFFICIAL EVENT WEIGH-INS.
      • All fighters and trainers are allowed to witness personally their opponents weigh-in on ALL IAB bouts.
        • If desired so, they must be present at the weigh-in START time.


    6. MISSED OR LATE TO WEIGH-IN
      • If a fighter or the fighter's chief cornerman/trainer fails to attend he weigh-ins within the time suggested weigh-in window, they will be fined a minimum of $50.00 and could face a suspension.
      • Pro fighters will be fined 20% of their fighters purse for being up to 20 minutes late and higher fines past the 20 minute mark along with possible suspension.
      • They may also be DROPPED from the event AND be charged for ALL Expenses the promoter occurred for them to be on the event.

    7. WEIGH-IN ANNOUNCEMENTS
      • At the weigh-ins, trainers and fighters will be informed of the following:
        • Time to show-up at Venue
        • If from out of town, their transportation to the venue.
        • When & Where the event rules meeting will be.
        • The time of pre-fight physicals if not done at the weigh-ins.

    8. MAKING WEIGHT
      • NON TITLE FIGHTS
        • AMATEUR FIGHTERS
          • Amateur Fighters who do not make their required weight will be allowed up to 2 hours to cut the weight.
          • If they do not make their weight after cutting by the time given to them by the IAB Event Representative and the bout is forced to be cancelled they will be required to pay the promoter for all expenses related to their bout which includes travel expenses for BOTH fighters.
        • PRO FIGHTERS
          • Pro Fighters who do not make their contracted weight shall be fined 10% of their purse or $150.00 per lb over, whichever is greater.
          • If they do not make their weight after cutting by the time given to them by the IAB Event Representative and the bout is forced to be cancelled they will be required to pay the promoter for all expenses related to their bout which includes travel expenses for BOTH fighters and their opponents purse in full.

      • IAB TITLE FIGHTS
        • PRO AND AMATEUR FIGHTERS
          • Amateur Fighters who do not make their required TITLE weight will be allowed up to 2 hours to cut the weight.
          • If a TITLE HOLDER defending their title they will automatically lose their title on the Scale.
          • If a NON TITLE HOLDER and they are fighting for a VACANT title, the fighter not making weight will automatically lose the title on the scale.
          • ANY FIGHTER, AMATEUR OR PRO, not making their title weight will be required to pay the promoter for all expenses related to their bout which includes title sanctioning, travel expenses for BOTH fighters and any additional financial investments made by the event promoter as approved by the IAB.


  • RULES MEETING

    1. SCHEDULING
      • The pre-fight meeting could take place directly after the weigh-ins or prior to event on the day of the event.
      • The promoter must supply an area to fit all the fighters, trainers and officials in that is private from the public.

    2. WHO SHALL ATTEND
      • Fighters, officials and trainers ONLY may attend the official rules meeting.
      • Fighters and "ALL TRAINERS" must be present at the PRE-FIGHT RULES MEETING.
        • Unless a Special Circumstance has been approved by the Event Promoter and the IAB Event Representative.
      • ABSOLUTELY no family, friends or fans may attend.

    3. FIGHTER INFORMATION GIVEN
      • Along with a general rules review, at the pre-fight meeting, trainers and fighters will be assigned the following
        • The corner color from which they will fight out of.
        • Where their dressing rooms are.
        • The event fight order.

    4. MISSED OR LATE TO RULES MEETING
      • If an AMATEUR Fighter or their chief cornerman/trainer is late to the fighter rules meeting they will be fined a minimum of $50.00 and could face a suspension.
      • If an PRO Fighter or their chief cornerman/trainer is late to the fighter rules meeting they will be fined 20% of their fighters purse or $250.00, whichever is greater for being up to 10 minutes late and higher fines past the 10 minute mark along with possible suspension.
      • ANY Fighter may be DROPPED from the event AND be charged for ALL Expenses the promoter occurred for them to be on the event.
      • If a Pro fighters is dropped from the event they will also lose their purse AND be fined for ALL Expenses the promoter occurred for them to be on the event.
      • If a fighter fails to attend the pre-fight meeting, he/she will be fined a minimum of $100.00 and possibly dropped from the event. Pros will be fined a minimum of 20% of their purse or $250.00 whichever is greater.
      • Any trainers who do not attend the pre-fight meeting WILL NOT BE ALLOWED in the corner of their fighter or the dressing rooms of their fighter.

    5. REPORTING TO THE VENUE
      • All fighter's, once they report to the venue (event location) on the day/night of the event, are not allowed to leave the facilities and are subject to urinalysis and fines if they do not remain.
      • The fine for such a violation by an Amateur Fighter is a MINIMUM of $100.00 and or disqualification from their bout.
      • For Pro fighters the MINIMUM fine for such a violation is $250.00 or 20% of their purse, whichever is greater and or disqualification from their bout.

    6. FINES
      • All fines shall be paid to the IAB prior to the event.

      • If ANY (Amateur or Pro) fighter NO SHOWS at an IAB EVENT, they WILL be Charged/Fined for ALL expenses the Promoter occurred to match them on the event and placed on an indefinate suspension until all fines are paid in full.

      • ANY Charges, Expenses or Fines that are not paid or collected at the event will be followed up by the IAB Legal Department.
